Frequently asked questions
Do you use Lighthouse?
No. Our engine is built on Playwright plus raw Chrome DevTools Protocol, so we can measure things Lighthouse doesn’t and apply our own rules.
Do I need an account to test?
No. Without an account you get 3 scans per hour and 5 per day from one test location, with the full report: scores, Web Vitals, waterfall and the fixes. Video and filmstrip are the part that needs an account.
What does a free account add?
It lifts you to 15 scans a day from two locations, unlocks video and filmstrip (3 a day), and adds test history, a daily monitor and an API key. Still free, still no card.
Why is video optional now?
Recording the page and building the filmstrip costs far more capacity than a plain scan, so it is a checkbox in advanced settings instead of something every test pays for. Turn it on when you actually need to watch the load.
How realistic are the results?
We measure in a real Chromium browser with the device and connection profile you choose. For steadier numbers, take a multi-run median in advanced settings.
Is there a commitment on the paid plans?
No. Starter and Pro are single 30-day payments: no auto-renewal, no stored card. When the period ends, your account simply returns to Free.
